Into the Drawer I Go

Dec 21, 2007 11:26

I'm dropping out of
writerinadrawer. I just couldn't come up with a fic this week ("mandatory mustelid," I ask you! ;) ), and I don't think the style of my writing fits in with what those folks are looking for. So I'm just hastening the inevitable.

In other writing news, I'm well into the first chapter of "Laney," the working title for my original novel. I think I'll be posting friends-only snippets here as I get things hammered out. Expect to see the first one of those in the next couple of days, and not much whofic apart from the occasional chapter of "Valiant." For which I got yelled at at dwfiction for posting so many chapters at once and overloading the complainer's f-list.  Anonymously. whatever, I hate anonymous complainers.

That's alls I got, folks! It's Solstice tonight and I have a house to clean and onions to pickle! We're having a German-ish feast of sausages, potatoes, sauerkraut, cheeses (with quince paste, mmmm), salad, carrots, pickled onions and beets, sour cucumber pickles, and homemade applesauce. Then we'll open family presents and Father Winter will make his surprise visit to the front porch, where he knocks and leaves a present for the girls. (This year, it's a buttload of art supplies.)

solstice, wiad, writing
