[complete] making of N.M.P. (NO MORE PAIN) Rough Translations

Jun 15, 2010 22:57

-I really <3 the orchestral bits. :D
-I ignored the song parts obviously...
-I really wish they'd had a longer video to explain the PV more.
-though complete, I don't guarantee that they're perfectly correct or accurate, as I call them 'rough translations' for a reason. :/
-you can tell I started getting really bored with this...
-and that I almost gave up...not wanting to finish it
-please don't hard-sub these, because I don't want them to be, and I'm sure someone else will come with better translating skills for it.
-But, enjoy

Nakamaru: Good afternoon. Today, we're recording the tracks for our new song on album.
But the way we record hasn't gotten on tape before, right? (NOTE: he's referring to all the making of's, and they always show the making of the pv, and not the recording studio)

Voice (He's probably like...the producer or something, I don't know): It was elegant. (NOTE: Literally, the guys says, "寂は..." which directly translated means 'well-trained voice'.)

Nakamaru: Can you tell me how to 'read' B1 again?
Voice: Number 1?
Nakamaru: Number 1.

Nakamaru: Before the live we received the music and were told that this song would be in the album. I think it's very KAT-TUN-like. Recently, there's a lot of things we've thought about, lot of things we want to challenge. It's a KAT-TUN song that we've never done. It's been a while since the KAT-TUN members have all been so involved in the song.

Voice: The voice percussion, it could be in the middle of the bridge or under here.
Nakamaru: Then, I'll have a little fun.
Voice: Okay, go try it.
Nakamaru: Okay

Nakamaru: Well, every time it's like this. We make it from zero, so it takes up a lot of time. Like today, a small piece like this, it really took 10-15 minutes. From start to finish.
Voice: Just a little more.
Kame: It's fine to do it slowly.
Voice: Oi. We'll listen to it. That's all.
Nakamaru: Okay.
Voice/Nakamaru: Good work.
Nakamaru: Huh? Where's Kame?

Nakamaru: It's like, it's been a while. It's KAT-TUN-like.
Kame: The album this time is very interesting. Like the thing we want to do for the creation of the world tour, this song is...what is it? About our mistakes? Chances bring misery along with them especially when you're doing well. ....the color really comes out.
Nakamaru: It fits perfectly, right?
Kame: Yeah, it's similar to the songs we had before our debut.
Nakamaru: Oh. It works well for the world tour.
Kame: Yeah.
Nakamaru: I think foreigners will see it too.
Kame: Okay
Nakamaru: So, let's do our best.
Kame: I'll try my best, Chief. We'll try our best.

(Kame plays "Neko Funjatta" on the keyboard.)

Kame: Hi. My name is Kazuya. Nice to meet you.
Voice: Let me hear that part.
Kame: I'm tired~

Kame: Somehow, even though I've sang the song, I haven't properly heard what it's like together. It's only my part, and all the other members are working the same way. We have to match the five of our voices as if five of us are singing together. But really, I haven't seen it yet. It's kind of like first, let's produce this.

Kame: At the "hitogomi" part I should...
Voice: That's right.
Voice: Just like that.
Kame: At that part, I'll emphasize it.

Kame: It's hard because you really have to know your own level of singing technique. It's easy to sing softly in to the mic, but it makes it sound like you're whispering. We used the effect quite a bit. At "ah" it's not "ah". But it's interesting, when you listen to it, you'll understand but at the part, "I don't want to lose you but...what a painful world" is normal. But it'd sound like "I don wafjd lofds du adjaj ajw a pasdfnad word" (i.e. That's Kame's excuse for their bad engrish.) So since that effect was added in, it's all different.

Kame: I wonder if we can put more effect on it.
Kame: ...is what it seems.

Taguchi: I want to do that part again with a different feeling. At the "painful" part.
Taguchi: Isn't the "painful" part too high?
Voice: No no no, it'll work. It's no crazy.
Taguchi: (NOTE: it sounded muffled to me)

Taguchi: There's really a variety of songs. And a lot of the singles like Going!, Love Yourself, and D-Motion. Well, with just that there's a lot of different genres. So, it's deep.

Taguchi: Good work.
Voice: Good work.

Taguchi: Hasn't time gone by so fast to finish? It's already been an hour and a half and there's still time.
Voice: And this
Taguchi: Isn't that this part?
Voice: Okay, okay

Koki: Okay, so...please play the part that continues on (for the rap).

Koki: At first, it was just the rhythm. In my head at first, it was this kind of flow and rhythm singing. Then the what I wanted to sing would come. When we first started, like for Real Face, I went to the studio to think too. In an one album there's many songs that I have to think of the raps for, so if I can't think at home, I come to the studio.

Koki: Yeah, it's like, "pain". And like "Crime" and "punishment." This time, I wanted to say "K-A-T-T-U-N" so, I put them in some way or another. It was hard.

Koki: I put the main rap and the things I wanted to say together at certain parts.
Voice: Copy this.

Koki: Um, this time, to see me like this...to see the way we record.

Koki: For this, it's kind of selfish but.
Voice: Yes
Koki: At the "ah ah ah" part, can we use LRL. This is, for example, can we do No-R More-L Pain-R for the "We're no more pain" part? (NOTE: I've no idea what LRL means. I'm just assuming..it's some sort of special effect. july_akanishi has a good explanation for the L-R-L here)
Voice: We'll try to do that sort of feeling.

Voice: perfect
Koki: It's done~

Ueda: Mmm...I want to hear it one more time.
Voice: Should we repeat it again?
Ueda: Mm...yeah I think-I don't know.
Voice: For the feelings, right?

Ueda: With just singing, it's normal when you hear it I think. You might think it's not really all that strange. But when you sing it...it's like...what is it? a softly done song...what is it? We really paid attention to sing the parts to make it all fit for the final result. Because of how it'd turn out. Compared to normal, we were given longer time to record.

Ueda: At the beginning, there's a bit of classic rock. It's new for KAT-TUN but it does have parts that are like what we always do. Maybe people who listen to the song will be like, "Ah, it's very KAT-TUN-like" but really it's like, 'we're really singing.'

Ueda: At that part, I just want to hear the harmony, if it's possible.
Voice: You want to hear the harmony?
Ueda: It's says do the top part
Is there someone doing it?
Voice: There is. There isn't. The members haven't.
Ueda: After the "no pain" part, "hikari dake wo"...is the part I don't understand. I just want to see that part how it connects.
Voice: Oh, I see. Okay.

Ueda: I wanted out genre to widen. It's like, this is how KAT-TUN always is, I don't know, like Koki first does the rap first and says like "Ladies & gentleman". Then everyone sings and ends. But, this pattern is KAT-TUN-like. With it being on the album, I thought it'd be better for it to be a bit different.

Kame: I don't know. Of course we're doing this for the CD but, before this, the way we do this is real. We'll do lives, sing the songs. With one song it changes. At a live it's like...ah~ This kind of song can be put in. Add in the voices of the audience. It's like that with Going! too but it's more day by day.

Taguchi: It's because of the live that we're including this. (NOTE: I think he means...that they're making the album because of the tour?) There's a lot of songs on the album that I think you'll want to hear, with good presentation of balance. This time in the album within the songs, there's also a PV that we make, is what I heard. This song shows a cool KAT-TUN PV.

Koki: Of course, up till now, we've a lot of songs that excites the audience during lives. We'll put in ballads too but it's very us, it's like our world of songs that we want to put in. And this time, N.M.P. is like this too.

Nakamaru: Presently, what is it? KAT-TUN's music is like all on it. Like, the things we wanted to do. And the recent Going!! is also in there too. It's KAT-TUN's music album.

Voices: I look forward to working with you.
Koki: I look forward to working with you.

Koki: The dancing
Kame: Please get permission from our company.

Kame: Recently, (something here that sounds like uto, I'm guessing something like....he feels neglected. But...:/ I don't know) It's long
Nakamaru: Eh?
Kame: It's a problem
Taguchi: Ah~ It's a key
Nakamaru: Ah, it really is.
Kame: With the chain...
Taguchi?: Nee, who hit you?
Kame: Hm? Your mom
Taguchi: My mom?
Nakamaru: She hit pretty strongly
Taguchi: It seems like it's the wrong answer
Nakamaru: Let's call your mom.
(NOTE: Yeah. I admit it. I laughed at the statement, because that's the only time I realized...that Kame was meant to look like he was beaten in the eye...one eye)

Nakamaru: Today, we're shooting for the PV for the lead song on the album, "No More Pain".
Ueda: It's the first time to make a PV for an album. I think I should try my best today.

Voice: Okay, everyone let's do it.
Kame: Let's do it.
Taguchi: Let's do it! Hey! HEY! HEY!
Nakamaru?: Somehow, the feeling, I don't understand.
Kame: It's not some kind of contest, you didn't have to answer.
Nakamaru: The feelings only up to here.
Taguchi: Okay, so who...
(NOTE: They started talking over each other, and I'm too lazy to play it over and over again)

Kame: It's like then I didn't notice.
Ueda: (something mumbled)
Taguchi: Ah, it's wrong, I went in too much.

Koki: This time...
Kame: Leader...
Koki: we used CG for all of it. All of us are (something along the lines of fake).
mumbling over each other again (NOTE: As ktdaisuki mentioned to me here, it seems that Koki says that they're clothes are CG'ed, so all of them would actually be nude (That's right...I'm so sorry I missed that. :/))
Koki: Yes, so my face is CG'ed, and I'm not Tanaka Koki.
Nakamaru: The truth is that only Taguchi is 3D
Kame: Tanaka

Ueda: Oddly, I really tried just now.
Kame: I really messed up.
Nakamaru: I was perfect
Taguchi: Me too

Koki: And so...(something) Taguchi
Nakamaru: Oh! I know. Right now "Isshouni denshin game" is popular. (NOTE: Literally translates to Together Telegraph game")
Taguchi: I don't know it.
Nakamaru: You don't know it, don't you?
Taguchi: How do you play?
Nakamaru: On "ready go" someone says like a category, and then everyone answers at the same time. Then if they match...
Koki: That's because, you know...
Kame: If it's a green food it would be...ready go
Nakamaru: Lettuce
(NOTE: I couldn't hear the rest of them....Nakamaru was loud man~)
Koki: Me and Taguchi matched. We both said 'green pepper'
Ueda: How many points is that? 2 points?

Taguchi: Should we start? Yeah. Isshouni denshin game. yeah. Mom's flavor. Ready go
(...yeah, it's hard to hear them all talking over one another)
Ueda: Eh? You too matched?
Taguchi: meat (NOTE: As noted by ktdaisuki Koki and Taguchi were saying "肉じゃが" which is kinda like beef/pork stew with potato, onion and soy sauce which is pictured here)
Kame: Is it really meat?
Taguchi: or so I think.
Koki: It's not really niku jyaka, but
Kame: For me it was (some kind of stew)

Koki: Okay, so I'll start.
Taguchi: yeah.
Koki: Isshouni denshin game.
Kame: (something...XD)
Koki: A food you want the girl you like to make you.
Ueda: (He says "糧食" which literally means provisions...and I just think it means food. So, it's one of those..be a japanese person to understand it things, I think. Because japanese people have like 5 million ways to say one thing. :/ Big vocabulary they can use from.) Not dishes but...?
Taguchi: Food
Koki: Ready go
Taguchi: Curry!
Koki: Those who said 'Hamburger'
Taguchi: You didn't say that
Kame: I said beef stew.
Koki: As expected. If that's the case I'd want "yakijyaki" (....I'm guessing something like monjyaki? Some kind of like...fried something at least. :/)

Ueda: Ah, it's not heavy. Light.

Ueda: Doing this, it'll fly.

Ueda: When we're all doing this here, we're all our own country's leader. And with each step. Nakamaru's country. (He says something along the lines of "subiyasou da na"....EDIT: apparently, I'd heard wrong, he'd said "subiyasusou = seems easy to live in". Thanks detarame for the info here)

Ueda: There's a pin here. It's easier to CG later. (NOTE: As in, the pin is there to help make his head easier to CG, not CGing the pin out..I think) If the hairs there, they can't do it. I wonder how they'll cover my head.

Nakamaru: Koki
Koki: Eh?
Nakamaru: You're that country's leader...(something about how powerful your country is...or something along those lines)
Koki: I won't tell you
Nakamaru: Just as I thought, you won't tell.
Koki: Mole
Nakamaru: (I couldn't hear it sorry)

Voice: Okay, cut~
Koki: I've the image of "Your excellency" (He's either saying that or I'm "Your excellency")

Voice: Okay, cut~
Voice: Ah wait, are you okay?
Taguchi: It's because of the way I'm wearing it.

Koki: It's because he's smart
Voice: Okay, one more time.
Kame: You know this thing, I feel like it'll become great. In a stage show, I do the same sort of thing.
Nakamaru: Ohh...(something here)
Taguchi: Mine wasn't interesting at all
Nakamaru: Mine too.
Koki: I think its inevitable.
Taguchi: As expected, 'stars' are different.
Nakamaru: Yeah, as expected, 'stars' are different.
Taguchi: It's something that can be done because of someone's face, na.

Then they all say stuff about Koki's face...and how it doesn't really matter what his face is like for this part (since they're going to CG them with helmets, right?)

Taguchi: Principal
Nakamaru: What's wrong?
Kame: Principal
Taguchi: There's a whole bunch of employees waiting for you to give a

speech. Only you can do it.
Koki: Yoroshiku onegaishimasu~
Kame: In a time like this, only you can talk to the employees.
Taguchi: Please...(something along the lines of go do it)
Nakamaru: This isn't my job.
Taguchi: Who's job is it then?
Nakamaru: Him.
Kame: Principal, what do you mean, what're you trying to do?
Nakamaru: You know, I'm already thinking about the future - the next age.
Kame: As expected
Taguchi: Can you do it?
Kame: So that means, Tanaka-san'll be the next company's principal?
Nakamaru:
Koki: I understand the principal's feelings.
Taguchi: Then, we're relying on you
Koki: To be continued...
Voice: That's unfair~

Ueda: It's 3 in the morning.

Voice: Okay. okay.
Ueda: Yay~!
Voice: Good work.
Ueda: Yay~! Good work.

Voice: Yes. okay. Cut. Okay! That's the end. Good work.
Koki: Kuso~! (which...is like Damn~) Kuso~! It's done...

Voice: From there, camera
Okay. Cut. Good work.
Taguchi: Good work.

Voice: Okay. Cut. Good work.
Nakamaru: Good work.

Voice: Start. Yes. Okay cut. Come here.
Let's check it.
Okay.
Kame: Okay.
Voice: Good work.
Kame: Good work.

Ueda: (NOTE: I want to say it's something along the lines of...I'll go like this home, but I don't think that's right. I was happy having my own country. From now on, I'll go back to normal. And when I get home, I want to sleep. And tomorrow, I'm going to Sendai. Because you know, even though you're busy, staff-san and everyone good luck making the rest. And so I'll go home and sleep. Good night~

Koki: I wanted to shoot more. I wanted to shoot more. It's amazing I (mumbled). Again for the sake of a PV, for a single or for an album - good work, good work! we'll make release another PV. Later~!

Taguchi: This time we finished without any injuries. And so this time, since it's CGed, I'm still not sure what it'll be like. But being able to do it seems it'll turn out pretty good. Everyone, please enjoy it. Ah~ This is after you've seen it, right? This is the making, right? It was really amazing, right? And so, well...(something) at lives by all means please enjoy it. And so, good work~
(NOTE: He's too cute. :/ he gets distracted and hits something almost tripping. XD)
Taguchi: Good work~

Nakamaru: This time the album was created, whilst thinking about the lives. I think that if you get interested after watching this video, you should come see our lives. By all means, please come~ Good work.

Kame: Well, I think it's really amazing that we were able to specially make a PV. Well, it's a feeling that it's not a single. Like with finishing the album, we even made it a bit challenging by using CG. Because it's CG, and it hasn't been done yet, I don't really know what it'll be like. Yes, it's something to look forward to. Bye-bye~
