hmmm....
Ive pretty much exhausted all possible ways to put off doing my last education assesment...updating lj seems like a good one to add to the list!
You'd think that come the end of semester, I would be trying to get things done as quick as possible, so my last few weeks are nice and relaxed...but no, that's not how im chosing to do it. bleh. I can't even be bothered simply typing about uni at the moment...but i'll do it - just to reiterate how much I don't care...
Last friday I handed in an essay that was worth 70% of my mark for modernism / art history. Stupid Megan decided that she would argue the question (discuss the contribution of female practitioners to modernist art and examine it in relation to.... yada yada yada) and make the argument that women DIDN'T make a contribution to modernist art at all - instead of using modernist artists, i used contemporary artists - who are from a completley different time in art history. Because i chose to this - i had to write one fucker of an essay - or my marks would be worth shit. Anyhoo - i think i wrote a well strung and logical essay - and backed up my argument fairly well, So i felt reasonably weightless when i handed it in....Until I went to my studio (practical) class and was told that my art wont be treated as art come exhibition time, it will only be seen as experiments and I need to pick up the pace and quote: "create something with real substance" before the end of semester. By "something" my tutour wants at least TEN brand new art pieces, fully documented for my section of the assesment exhibition. I don't really mind that she critisised my work, because that's what being at art school is all about - i just would have apprieciated this information at the begining of the semester when i submitted my proposal...so that has me remotley stressed out!
other than that - i need another job to support this freekin art course cuz the cost of materials is out of control.
anymore news? no? Oh yeah!!! Tezz and I start at the Sydnay Dance Company on Sunday - which is exciting. Hip Hop and Broadway Tap are our morning classes and then a stretch workshop for studio teachers and then Contemporary Jazz. Were gunna be sore little fukers on monday!!
and in breaking news - Im addicted to blackcurrant soothers.
Im Agent Cher, Back to you in the studio.
