why can you not perfectly cater to my exacting and specific tastes?!
I am like 2/3 through a super long and ostensibly plotty Star Trek fic and it's making me so mad but I'm determined to finish it to see how the plot resolves itself.
BUT IT'S SO TERRIBLE. EVERYONE KEEPS ACTING LIKE A MELODRAMATIC TEENAGER not actual adults with responsibilities. Who are these people? Why is everyone so OOC and not a goddamn professional? What's with the absurd amounts of crying and sulking and pining that is so obvious on both sides that I don't buy the other not being able to figure it out? Why do people not have a goddamn conversation? THERE WAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL HERE but it's like two immature teenagers who can't control themselves and I'm supposed to buy that they run a starship? I wouldn't trust them with my cat.
Unrelated but, man, I was more fun when I didn't care about being Mature. And it's not that I care about it now as it comes almost as a default from lurking and not interacting with the internet/fandom/people at large. You get more reserved.
