I watched Gravity last Wednesday in IMAX 3D (fucking pricey tickets, holy hell) - it visually stunning, though the characters and their stories were not particularly fleshed out or nuanced or original. I have been away for awhile and the first thing I saw was this. I like the introspection though I am not surprised that you have arrived at this very conlusion .... Eventually, we all realize it. It makes life interesting.
Non whites in Hollywood ! ? ! Hahahahahaha
And the part that made me really grin? You are reading regency romances? Which ones? By who?

Hope you've been well! And yeah I meander from fannish things to introspection on identity and similar a lot; my attention span, she is short! But definitely I have come to realize that while high standards and holding things to them is a good thing, that's not necessarily applicable in all areas of life, particularly in areas of people just seeking pure entertainment/relief. Although they can still make for interesting conversations, debating why certain tropes are more popular! Or why certain segments of the audience (cough, women) get more criticism for liking what they do, whereas other segments don't get nearly as much.

Anyway, yes! I read a lot of Julia Quinn back in the day, and lots of Heyer more recently. I think we had a discussion about our Heyer loves before, actually! Some may be due for a reread. :)
