yeah I could ship Niall with everyone

Yes, this is a post about my fannish meanderings aside from Teen Wolf (currently in meltdown/circle of wank mode) and hockey RPF (currently languishing in lockout mode).

As mentioned in the previous post: Kimi ni Todoke! Excellent! Full of feelings. I ship all canon ships madly and want to bawl over all of them and hold them all close. They're all so beautiful and imperfect and fragile in their own individual, human ways. And as I said before, I love that it treats every relationship with equal weight and doesn't place romance above friendship and is driven more by individual growth than true love. (And even true love is not that easy!)

Baccano! As introduced to me on movie night by sapphynashi, we got 6 episodes through and now I'm hooked to watch the remaining 11 episodes on my own. Dubbed, even! The accents and slang give a pretty good ~feel to the show. I wish I had better words to describe it, but it reminds me a lot of an Agatha Christie novel where an assorted cast of diverse, unconnected people go about their lives and business and all become connected by this one major event. I really love the nonchronological narrative style of the anime and it's got a great cast of personalities and a great soundtrack too. (It's set in an AU-esque version of 1930s New York and involves both alchemists and the mafia, which is so timely after I spent two days link-hopping on the American mafia on wiki.) It's occasionally violent (um, that is a bit of an understatement) and frequently hilarious, and overall just really interesting. I'll probably nudge a few people individually because I think they'll enjoy it.

Scheduling a reread/catch up of KomaHoshi this weekend or next. Yay for frequent updates! This series might actually be fully scanalated by the end of the year. Oh god, I'd never dared dream of the day. ♥ And September Scanlations has picked up Abe Miyuki's other work, Super Lovers, which means it'll be pretty up to date as well. I'm excited, I think. I have such mixed feelings on that series. But KomaHoshi at least merits 110% adoration.

Yes, poking around One Direction fic sometimes. There is not enough Niall, I've concluded. I give no fucks about Nick Grimshaw, alas, or what he may do with Harry Styles. (A terrible/amazing fannish collision occured when I discovered that Dylan O'Brien was a big enough 1D fan that this happened. Oh LORD. No. Stop. My brain can't handle it.)

Still waiting for the perfect Teen Wolf fic, though there have been many excellent ones I've enjoyed. Did I mention the frat AU? I love the frat AU. There are great canon fics that I love but I am sucker for a good tropefic, okay?

I managed to get a hold of the entire Discworld series and all of Agatha Christie's works in ebook form so, uh, that is a lot of reading to tide me over, along with any urges to reread various classics, childhood books, or favorite fantasies.

And TV-wise still keeping up with Go On and Elementary and waiting for Top Chef Season 10 to start. Ah, TV. I'm pretty terrible at it.

Also! JKR on The Daily Show was delightful. Aw Joooo. I don't think she's the greatest writer/person ever, but she still fill me with warm fuzzies, especially because she can be so funny and charming. Anyone who's read "The Casual Vacancy," do you mind sharing your general impressions? I wasn't interested in reading it until this review, but that might be more the review itself. What excellent writing.

It's a nice thing when my problem is OH GOD, TOO MUCH TO READ/WATCH. WHAT FIRST?

i read too much, shirtless wolfpack at your service, various methods of procrastination, books books books, fangirling? fangirling!, because you care about my thoughts
