Got my tix with celerywench for Hawks @ Flyers preseason game! Tragically, the regular season tickets for the Caps are ridiculously expensive all the time (thanks a lot, Ovie) and Flyers aren't much better. Still hoping to go to a few DC or Philly games throughout the season, though, spread out for the sake of my budget. Canes tickets are way more affordable

My local team is the Blue Jackets. THIS FILLS ME WITH SHAME AND ANNOYANCE. But actually not that much because it's Ohio + sports so what did I really expect, y'know?

TW is indeed pretty cool in its non-heteronormative world! Everyone is cool with all sexualities and it's not an After School Special either; it's just life, barely remarked upon at all. That's great. :D

hahah Sterek is a solely fandom thing; people adore Stiles as the snarky sidekick, and Derek is hot and growly, and Scott is grossly happy with Allison, and so Sterek was born. I don't mind all the tropey fics because I'm easy, but I also want the long plotty fic that builds up Sterek believably from canon, because, yep, in canon they have potential, but not even as much as a lot of other ships. But yeah i think it's the hotness and dynamic and potential that hooks a lot of people.

TBH I want a lot of filthy RPS to go with it. /o\ What is shame, I don't need it.

Oh my god, you don't know me, but I think you're one of like two other people I've met who don't really... get Sterek? I mean, if people want slash, I have seen wayyyy more chemistry between other dudes (and sometimes ladies, hello antagonistic Allison/Erica!) on that show.

Ugh I feel LIKE I HAVE SO MUCH IN COMMON WITH YOU, RANDOM FINE PERSON. I legit have grown to like Teen Wolf and enjoy watching it, and I think it would totally be the kind of show I’d spend a lot of time reading fic for, BUT IT’S LITERALLY ALL STEREK. And I mean, I get some Sterek, I really do, you think they’d be interesting together and you like both characters okay, so you slash them. I’d get a subsection of the fandom being all about the Sterek…….but it’s like, it. Why? I….sort of feel like I could never enter into the Teen Wolf fandom, you know? Because I can’t relate to what seemingly the whole fandom is about.

I think TW has potential for some interesting fic……but just, not all of it Sterek fic. :P

Well, not including you, I know like one person who doesn't ship Sterek, and one person who's vaguely more interested in other pairings right now, but neither of them write for the fandom, and one of them has only seen the first season so far.

No apologies for rambling necessary! I'm nodding along with basically your whole comment, so! Do you mind terribly if I friend you, by the by? Because seriously, non-Sterek solidarity, I need it in my fannish life!

If I do end up writing fic for this fandom, it's probably going to be about like, Isaac (whom I've gotten really fond of, especially in light of the latest episode), or Erica, or even Matt the creepy photographer (who is, yes, kind of terrible and messed up, but I also find his issues - - and potentially slashy-in-a-really-screwed-up-way dynamic with Jackson - pretty interesting), and if there's a pairing, it is totally not going to be one the mainstream fandom will care about. |D

Ah yes, Matt is a terrible and creepy person but you totally don’t have to like someone or think they’re a decent human being to write about them or find the fascinating(I seem to be at odds with a good number of people on this?) and yes, Matt/Jackson dynamics are wonderfully acrewed up here, have a gif.
