Things!
- IT IS MY BELOVED WIFEY'S BIRTHDAY TODAY. HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO
nightengale. I love youuuu. ♥♥ I hope your celebration with friends was filled with warmth and happiness and feeling.
- The beach has made me very tan. SPF50 is obviously not enough. SPF90, why did my parents take you away from me? How cruel. Encroaching skin cancer, I do not want you! Though I plan on dying young anyway (25, in 2012; hopefully after the new Star Trek movie comes out).
Some pictures have been up on Facebook
here (friends-locked because I am a paranoid privacy whore when it comes to FB), but maybe I will post some here later, after the trip is over.
- I have played so much mahjong today ahhh and have totally adopted a family's friend tiny son as my little brother because he is adorable and precious and, whatever, his IRL big sister is never around and not exactly his BFF (they are 13 years apart). He is like a little cousin or godbrother or something to me, I don't know how these labells work, but he is seven and at his future wedding I will be there and wax dramatic about how I've known him all his life. Or not, seeing as I plan I dying in 2012 but HEY, IT'S THE PRINCIPLE OF THE SENTIMENT.
- I still have not watched the last episode of Sherlock, but I plan to soon! More importantly:
Sherlock's been renewed for a second season! Hurrah, entertain us more, BBC. I approve of your fast-paced British actors running about solving mysteries and having homoerotic undertones, regardless of what your creators may protest.
- I also have Rock N Rolla ready for viewing. No strong feelings about Gerard Butler but I do want to see Tom Hardy as Handsome Bob. I will get around to his (and JGL's) other films eventually, too.
- Speaking of movies:
This Means War out in 2011, currently in pre-production, featuring Chris Pine and Tom Hardy and Reese Witherspoon in a romantic comedy about spies! I AM EXPLODING IN ANTICIPATION OKAY.
- Do no want to think about the RL I must face in a week, heading back to STL to pack and move and prep for the fall semester. This semester will be wretched busy with classes and work and Note editing and MPRE-studying (fucking ethics, how do they work) and form-filling (to hash out visas and applications and things I will need for my spring exchange to Singapore!!!).
- On that note, with such a busy fall semester awaiting me, WHY AM I THINKING ABOUT SIGNING UP FOR THE INCEPTION BIG BANG. STOP ME, FLIST. But I am so tempted... :(
- Okay, part of the temptation is that
the Inception cast is so cute AND I STILL WANT FILTHY RPS PLEASE. Though if I wrote for the BB, it would be for the movie, not the actors. Still, let me lodge my demands for fic.
- I will make another Inception fic rec post soon! It may also contain Kradam recs because, you know. Love.
- Also, I finally got around to reading and finishing The White Road by Lynn Flewelling (
otterdance) and I enjoyed it much more than Shadows Return! But mostly it makes me crave the first two books of the series, and also it brings home just how spoiled I've been by fic and how explicit it is when it comes to relationships. Seregil and Alec don't have graphic sex? What? My world is rearranged with shock. Oh my standards are entirely skewed nowadays. Still, yay for the book, and I guess the series is continuing. I am also excited for Lorna Freeman's The Flames of Reckoning, though that will be ages before it's complete, much less out for public consumption. :(

HAESICA. ♥♥♥ Cutest ever! (Thank you, lovely
thundersquall!)
This week has obviously filled me with a great affection for exclamation points. :3
