you have no idea how much *facepalm* exists in my life

The TL;DR backstory...

I had one of the most bipolar experiences in JE fandom in late 2005, early 2006, before most of my flist was swept away by love for KAT-TUN & Arashi & Yamapi and, you know, those endless Johnny's boys. I fell hard and fast after life_of_eden & wakkawoo brought KAT-TUN into my life, and Gokusen introduced a certain MatsuJun... I could not stop talking about KAT-TUN's tinfoil outfits, or their hot purple leather pants, among other things. I dragged my first-year roommate among_the_lost and innocent bystander thyme_hawthorne into the fray with me. Oh boy.

In those months, dozens upon dozens of GBs worth of videos and clips and music were downloaded. Pictures too. God, the folders I had sorted out for KAT-TUN. jin_daily and kame_daily were created, and kamepi, with some ensuing wank. These were some of the best and worst times of my life. (I exaggerate.)

I like Pi now. I like Kame still. I love Ohno and Nino silly. I still listen to KAT-TUN's music all the time, and I couldn't stop flailing at everyone at work when Arashi's "We Can Make It" PV came out.

But JE and its fandom also leaves a bitter taste in my mouth because it's so closely tied to one of my...unsuccessful friendships. Drama and melodramatics aside, suffice to say I have a love/hate relationship (okay, truthfully, more like an "easily entertained/bitterly resentful" relationship) with it. It's "the one who seduced you and fucked you over and broke your heart in a million pieces and laughed about it" from the Fandom as Lovers Meme.

The last thing I want to do (especially right now, on top of my RL business) is fall into another similarly huge and shiny-filled music fandom. (I'm content with my Big Bang love with occasional peeps of w-inds. fangirling, really!)

But. Guys. This Korean phenomenon. I--I can't seem to escape it.

Super Junior. Rain. Se7en. Big Bang. SS501. DBSK.

SEND HELP. Seriously.

My first real exposure to Korean boybandery was DBSK. I thought they were pretty (girly) and shrugged them off, content to ignore them until I watched Banjun Reverse Drama Theatre- Dangerous Love.

Um, that's kind of responsible for my endless Yunho love. UKNOW. I love him even though he looked like a hobo in the Choosey Lover MV. The boy can dance, okay?!

And Hero--I'd have to be blind not to admit how pretty he is. I refuse to like him with blond hair though. >:|

Max is just adorable and I am happy he got a haircut! Xiah won me over after the thing with mini-DBSK, the adorable little children alkdjflsk. Oh Xiah. ♥ I have no real opinion on Max but, um, I like his hair now more than the dreadlocks? Yeah.

SO I SORT OF GOT INTO DBSK.

Then I proceeded to ignore Korean boybands for months on end, happy with my 2D boys, until Big Bang came and smacked me in the face with Dirty Cash and Goodbye Baby. alkdjskl ::cries:: I was a lost cause. They're my #1 right now. How far they've come in just a year. How hot their hair is now! Watching early performances actually throws me because all of their hair was so different.

I LOVE YOU GD. But I can't pick a second favorite among the rest of them. They are all tied, I LOVE THEM ALL. And I am still not tired of hearing "Lie" or seeing it performed. Crazy, maybe, but babies~♥

But, yeah, I thought I was okay with just Big Bang. You know. Sort of totally not learning Korean while I listened to their songs and admired their better-than-JE fashion taste...

Then a few weeks ago I watched Attack on the Pin-Up Boys.

...

DAMN THIS MOVIE TO HELL.

It was pretty and funny and plot-driven and had a fabulous song at the end and had me totally shipping Donghae/Kibum and adoring on them in general and--

Learning all 13 Super Junior names.

Watch this: Donghae, Kibum, Heechul, Hankyung, ShinDong, Siwon, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Leetuek, Yesung, Kang-in.

Oh my god, someone kill me now. I can only recognize about half or 2/3 of them upon first glance or in moving clips, but--this is more than I ever thought I'd be able to. ;___; And until tonight I thought I wasn't really into SuJu, just the movie AU (which I still really, really want to write fic for, oh Donghae/Kibum ftmfw), but then Youtube and X-Man happened.

So now I'm a little in love with Heechul (don't hate, y'all) and Sungmin and Siwon, and a lot in love with Donghae and Kibum (really don't hate, you know who you are!). And Hankyung. Well. The boy's Chinese. I'm inherently biased.

DAMN YOU MUSIC FANDOMS. Now, I only have two SS501 songs and we're going to keep it that way. I have too much of Rain's music and still need to watch his dramas. But, you guys, I don't have nearly enough Se7en. And I am kind of entranced by his dancing. ::facedesk:: Help?

★★ alksdfjldk I would love you forever if you sent me Se7en music or Neorul Saranghae by SES (girl band Big Bang parodies) or, um, your favorite pretty-Asian boy band song.

In conclusion: I TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY BLAME thyme_hawthorne & loveblackcoffee. ~___~

I hope the Chinese/Taiwanese phase never starts. Sadly, I already think Danson Tang (also known as 梁思南 or Nanba in the Taiwanese HanaKimi) is adorable and want to watch more dramas (like I have time!!) with him in it.

Um. On a totally unrelated note, I was rereading Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike today and RLY, RLY WANTED TO FIC FOR IT. Fuck.

So, uh, I'm going to go...study People & Environment in SE Asia now...

i am a crazy fangirl, whining is an art, this is the big bang, i'm totally studying okay?, suju has too many members, pwned sideways, whoring for music, haha that's almost funny, denial is my best friend, !!!
