More like "this is an awesome concept and needs a good treatment". I can only recall one fic where this was done (and it was an AU where Sam grew up in the Simmons family and was therefore part of S7) and I didn't care for it.

Mikaela: WHAT!? Sam is...*glares at Blaster* Get the damn plane, you fragger! It'd better be fueled and ready by the time I get my jump-bag.

Ratchet: *oh scrap look as his processor screeches to a halt* You're coming?

Mikaela: Damn right I am! *notices expression* What?

LOL NO :D Of all the ways I've written the 'Counterparts and Sam get back to America and the Autobots' arc, in none of them has Mikaela known about Sam. There was never a reason for anyone to tell her. And yes, she had epically bad reactions every time.

Although, this one will probably play out a little differently because this time it took Sam longer to get back, which mean behind the scenes things had a chance to develop a lot further than previously. :\
