In the past, my son has demonstrated (a) a total lack of interest in current events and (b) an utter absence of tact. He calls it "honesty". Honestly, honesty is highly overrated.
So, the other day he IM's me from class.
Seems Robert felt the urge, in response to something the professor said, to blurt out "Sir, you have the appearance of a cruel and petty dictator!" Then he actually thought about that and decided to pass on an opportunity to demonstrate his wittiness. Especially since he wants a letter of rec from said prof.
