No to H8 Rally in Baltimore - Nov 15

Nov 15, 2008 16:42

We had a really good start to the rally. There were several hundred people, some surrounding a large open area where the speakers were, and many with signs near the street and the War Memorial shouting at cars. It was loud and almost filled the Plaza outside City Hall. Big for Baltimore. Lots of kids playing around the edges.

One of the speakers asked how many were straight - about 1/2 the hands went up. A few parents but many many young people - hope for the future.
I started out to taker pictures but quickly was pressed into service gathering signatures for postcards to be sent to legislators.
Then the rain started and quickly became a torrential deluge.

I was soaked to the skin everywhere and I had on a jacket. Older son is below modeling his November raingear. Note the streetlights at 3 PM. We went home to change into dry and get hot chocolate.

Hope it was great in your city.
