ohhhhhhh man.
last night was so good it still hurts. we went to the pink spiders/acceptance/yellowcard show at tink's downtown in scranton. it. was. a. mazing. oh god, i was so happy. i haven't been to a show in such a long time! we were up against the bar, very front, on stage right. we had an amp right in front of us, so we are still working on re-gaining our hearing, and it blocked a little bit of our view, but in general, it was the sweetest spot. we also got a breeze from upstairs so it wasn't so hot. fantastic.
the pink spiders were alright, acceptance was fucking amazing and yellowcard was off the hook. it was seriously one of the best shows i've ever been to [think fallout boy/bigwig christmas show in baltimore and catch 22/bosstones show at dewey beach during beachweek]. it was only the second show i've ever been to where one of the band members stopped and yelled at a security guard for mistreating the kids in the audience. it was sweet. last time it was dickey from the bosstones telling us to "get the security guards the fuck out" when they wouldn't let anyone dance and this time it was sean, the violinist from yellowcard, yelling at a security guard for being too rough with a kid who had just crowd surfed to the front. so hott. i love when you can watch a band keeping an eye on their fans. ryan, lead singer of yellowcard, constantly had an eye on the kids crowd surfing, making sure they were alright. whenever someone fell or looked like they did, he had this flash of concern on his face. it was really nice to see. the guitarist [we shall call him bob because we cannot find his name anywhere online...] was all about eye contact, too. he had a really penetrating look and he would make direct eye contact with those of us up front. it just made you connect even harder with the music, which is amazing.
this was the first time i had seen or heard of acceptance and they rocked the shit out of it. i have compltely fallen in love with their song "different" and i loooove them. go check them out. now. then come back and finish this entry.
in the sixth grade girl column, the boys in the bands were sooooo hotttttt. holy hell. ryan from yellowcard isn't bad on the eyes and sean...good god. he is monica and i's facebook picture right now. in hers he's looking all sexy with the dimples and in mine he's making a crazy face [i told him he could make whatever face he wanted, haha, love it] so you can see all the aspects of his gorgeousness. then the lead singers of acceptance and pink spiders were enigmas, because against the norm, they were much hotter close up than far way. beautiful eyes and lip piercings galore. and that, children, is my heaven. there was also a hot [yet pompous seeming] guitar player in acceptance who lost me when he walked in with a popped collar. oh well, you can't win 'em all. haha. the keyboard guy for acceptance was also top notch in a cute older brother of your friend sort of way. i'd bang him, haha.
le sigh. i wish i could drive to jersey tonight and go at it again. my ears are still ringing, my throat is still sore from singing and screaming, my legs are tired from standing, jumping and dancing, but i would do it again in a second.
but, alas, i must write my history paper.
standing in line when you are super syced for a show suuuuucks. especially when they say it starts at 7 and they really mean doors are at 7...and they really mean that they won't actually open the doors until 7:30.

"Different" by Acceptance.
Tell myself, on the ride home.
Getting tired, hating all I've known.
Holding on, like it's all I have.
Count me out, when it's clear that I, find it hard to say.
And you, find it hard to care.
I wanted to see something that's different, something you said would change in me.
Wanted to be, anything different, everything you would change in me.
Got this way, upfront but never true.
God I'm wrong, it's just the way I am.
Crashing down, any chance you hear.
Caving in, any chance that you, could see inside of me.
And I don't know what to say, It's fine.
This isn't Hollywood.
So fine, getting in your way.
I wanted to see something that's different, something you said would change in me.
Wanted to be, anything different, everything you would change in me.
I'm taking a chance, this could be different.
This could be all I'm waiting for.
Taking a chance, this could be different.
This could be all I'm waiting for.
I wanted to see something that's different, something you said would change in me.
Wanted to be, anything different, everything you would change in me.
Something that's different
