weekend shenanigans
what a weekend!
i can't believe my brother is a married man! it was a whirlwind weekend to be sure! dan came up on thursday and we had fajitas and went to the ABC upstairs for drinks with keith and erin. on friday we slept in (mmmmm), got my paycheck on campus and then headed to milford. the hotel was awesome and the beds were ENORMOUS and made scary noises when you inflated them. all in all, not a fan of the sleep number bed, but maybe it just takes time to find your number? i have no idea. anyway, we had a drink at the bar with the family, went upstairs to get dressed for the rehearsal dinner and went to the church where my aunt, dan and i had a bunch of really good laughs over proper church etiquette...haha! the rehearsal dinner was good, i had to weakest cosmo of my entire life, and the food was pretty good.
the next day we went to wrentham (dan bowed gracefully out--typical guy!) and i got some stuff for the wedding. i had to do my hair and my sister's so i had to rush to do both. went to the church for the wedding (worst church brass quintet EVER, decided that at my wedding i'm having a string quartet) which was really quick. i didn't fall over or read the poem too fast AND i didn't even let myself become a blubbering, crying mess! we jumped in the car, got a little lost and ended up tailing the limo to find lake pearl (where the reception was) and the whole place was beautiful! it was white glove service and it was fun to shmooze with everyone during cocktail hour. we had some formal pictures taken, had a few drinks and munchies (i can't spell hors d'evours or whatever) took some more pictures and introduced dan to everyone. dinner was awesome, the drinks were stiff, and dan and i danced our asses off. i even had a dance with my joejoe :) the DJ was amazing, he played swanky music for dinner and didn't play any of the stupid songs (ie, chicken dance, YMCA, etc etc) so we had a great time cutting a rug. After the reception we went back to the bar at the hotel and oops...got TOE UP piss ass drunk. dan too, he was tanked. i had a great chat with my cousins, saw my dad almost jump over the bar (scary for anyone who knows my dad) and woke up with one killer hangover. i'll spare the details. dan and i made an appearance at brunch, didn't eat anything, went back to the room to lay down and rest it off and then cleaned up our stuff and headed back to my apartment. jess came over for the night and i ended up going to health services to find out that i had myself a UTI (which is super), got me some antibiotics and passed out with dan. skipped class monday, went to work late and left early, but i blame the antibiotics because they were making me majorly drowsy. and my pee was bright ass orange!
so i think that's about it for now. it was a great weekend and it absolutely flew by! once the professional photos come in i'll see if i can get a few up for all to see.
