I'm getting my dress made in the Philippines and need to think up giveaways, centerpieces, and possibly make my decision on cotillion well in advance of November. I saw my first venue too. Many more calls to make...

I think it was Chuck Palahniuk who said something along the lines of the invention of the telephone coming about because people were afraid of getting too close but couldn't bare to be completely alone. It's really a shame how technology - now ranging far and beyond the telephone - has completely destroyed the principle of communication. A conversation through MSN now completely suffices for a real conversation. It kind of seems like at this rate, we're all just going to forget how to really communicate. Unfortunately, it's just so much easier to hide behind a telephone or a computer screen where an important conversation doesn't have to take place face to face. It's like we're connected, but disconnected - all at the same time...
