My firstest entry

I wanted to start a journal because it's a fun thing to do and I don't have any where to write!

I would like to start by congratulating myself on my purchase of the day.  I decided I very much liked Cheryl Cole's dress that she wore on the X Factor over the weekend (it's a dress by a designer called Verus, but as expected, the dress costs over £1,000) so I went in search of a similar type of dress, as celebrity outfits usually turn into affordable copies given about 24 hours.  I hunted high and low and couldn't find anything, when suddenly I found this!  The perfect dress!

My dress on the right.  I actually prefer it to Cheryl's!  I bought mine from the ever-reliable ASOS.com.

I am going to Las Vegas for Christmas and New Year with my fiancee, so I am very excited to have a sexy dress to wear.  I have found the perfect LBD!

You will find out throughout the course of this journal that I am slightly scary when it comes to deciding that I want a certain item of clothing, being determined to find it, and then eventually finding it after hours of Googling, and either paying way more than it's worth, or buying it from somewhere like Iran so it costs way too much in postage.  But once I get something in my head, that's it, I have to have it!  Luckily I managed to resolve this dress urge fairly quickly, it could have become manic otherwise (I imagined myself fashioning a neckline like Cheryl's dress out of a dress I already own and making a complete mess...)

I had this exact problem when I bought my wedding dress.  I realised fairly quickly that I really really dislike most of the wedding dresses available for the common bride (i.e. not a celebrity/member of the Royal family) and I am so so so fussy about clothes, so you can imagine how weird I got about the dress I was going to wear on my wedding day.  I soon decided I hated every dress that I could afford to buy, and only wanted a specific dress.  When I realised that dress was about 50 times too expensive, I decided I wanted a dress exactly like it, but more affordable (I'm a very realistic person! pft)  Eventually I found the right dress, but then I realised they only sold it in Warrington, a very long way from where I live.  So I went with my Mum all the way up to Warrington to buy this dress.  I'm a nutter!  Or Bridezilla, whichever.
