Okay, to start I have a simple recipe recommendation for everyone. This week my after school treat has consisted of one simple, yet delicious dish: vanilla bean ice cream topped with sliced bananas and almonds with warm caramel twirled all over. I think it might be even better if I could substitute the almonds for a thin, elegantly-styled cookie ( Read more... )

My last reply was an attempt at being playful and cute... However, just to clear things up, he received the money from his parents, I'm almost certain. I know it didn't come from a crappy job because he used to work at the same crappy place I did, and he, like myself, also quit after working there for some time. (I'm actually considering working there again over the summer so I can save up some money before I go off to college.) Anyway, what is important here is the fact that of the four couples that went to dinner together that night, the guy paid for the girl in each case. Maybe it's different elsewhere, but at my school prom seems to be an event that the guy is expected to pay for. I do not always just take people's money, though. When I go out with friends, sometimes they pay for mine, but then I make up for it next time by paying for theirs; and they do the same in return. Of course, we most frequently just pay for own meals or whatever it may be.

My date, though he is just a friend, treated the occasion quite formally. He seemed to take pleasure in paying for me, not to mention escorting me and caring for me all the night, and don't worry, I thanked him numerously with full sincerity. He is a very sweet friend and I would never take advantage of him.

Anyhow, isn't it somewhat customary for guys to pay for a girl on dates? It isn't always the case, but I think the majority of times any guy has asked to take me out to a movie, dinner, coffee, or ice cream, he has payed for it, insisting even after I pull out my own money to do so myself. There have also been times at which I have paid for my date; if I am the one to invite him somewhere, I think it is my part to cover the expenses; after all I asked HIM to come with me, not the other way around.

I always do my best to be a lady; acting kind and considerate, right? What would you say is lady-like behavior?
