The Week

What day is it again? The 28th! Geez, time flies when you are busy, not necessarily having fun though! Now that's actually a lie. Apart from being sick with a cold/chest infection/who knows fucken what, i can't even recall what i've done all this week! but ill give it a good go..
The show started this week, Wed, Thurs and Sun. Thanks to all those who came along, i hope you found it funny! A lot of good reviews from people, so it must be funny. I admit, i still laugh even though ive heard the whole thing like 50 times over.

Seen a few bands this week too. Saw Digger & the Pussycats and the Sailors at the Espy on Wed? night, thanks Brad for driving, and especially for letting me get Hungry Jacks on the way. Even though i did feel like throwing it up whilst watching the bands. Went to the tote afterwards and hung out with Chris, Dave and Pete for a while. Then came home. Slept till i dont know when. Got up, must have done something, then did a show Thurs night. Can't actually remember what i did on Thurs night, i think i probably ended up at the tote again...

Friday night started with dinner with Lucy's parents and family.. I ate crocodile and quail.. both very interesting but nothing overly that special, no better than chicken really. Good seasonings though, lovely dinner. Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant on Victoria St. Then i headed to Show Us Your Roots 2 with rach, fi, and marty. Got in for free (go the comedy fest perks... haha thatd be the only one) it was ok... the irish guy was funny and the chinese guy. The rest werent that great. Maybe i wasnt in the mood for any more people trying to fucking funny. Who knows.. sometimes i just have enough!

Then headed down to the old bar to see the Actioneers.. got there and they were already playing. Ran into a guy Alex who used to know Zane. He said he recognised me except for my hair. Still looks long and bright orange to me.. But never mind. The Actioneers were good, despite Toddy being sick. Headed back to Red and Pete's place and checked out the new QOTSA album and DVD thingy... pretty sweet. But i must buy it myself cos i didnt get a proper listen. Headed home about 2am after realising that it was in fact Fri night and i had to work on Saturday.

Saturday i woke up really sick... duh... thats what you get for going out and getting drunk every night when you are busy as hell anyway. Felt like shit at work all day, then came home and slept for a few hours. Got up, packed up the good old camry and headed to the Vic to play a gig. It was pretty fun. Found i could almost make out a singing noise even though i could hardly speak. Got some good responses though. Jason (who worked there and also played in his own band who he described as sounding like the pixies) said as soon as he heard me wah-ing it up on guitar, the first thing he thought was 'Mudhoney'. I was pretty stoked at that, cheers Jason. We are playing with his band on the 29th April at the Noise Bar in Brunswick.

Hung around and caught Black Mumba who i thought were really cool, loud as hell, but real intensity to their music. Was going to head home, and did in fact. Took the gear home and got some food. Then gave Heath a lift home to Brunswick about 2am. Decided to go to the Lomond where Rossco works for a 'Lomond Lock In' i was told. Basically they close the doors and all the staff and their friends get pissed and talk shit till they all wander home. Had heaps of fun actually. Then headed back to Rossco's place with a few of the bar flies and his work mates and that. Played this bass which was a Maton Firebird, one only ever made. Supposedly worth like 12 000 bucks. It played like a dream though. It was awesome. Ali and I came home about 5.30am...

Sunday was very sleepy then had the show. Good crowd and lots of support. After the show we headed to the tote to see hoss. Just missed the Curly Wurly's, but they were cool from all reports. Had a couple of drinks and felt a bit better. The next band was good too, Vegas Kings? I can't remember, woops. Hoss were cool, very funny, stopped during songs, said some stupid shit, but all in all had fun. Spoke lots of shit to anyone who would listen. Apologies to Mike from the Drones for calling him a bum, although he seemed to quite like the idea.

And thats another week over and out. Not enough work done, too much drinking, lots of music, and absolutely to chocolate. Don't know how i managed that over easter, but it wasn't a very 'eastery' easter for me this year. If you have made it this far then good for you. I'm going to go do something more constructive.
