it's always something

So, when my mom, sister, and I went to look at the second reception site, I was informed by the woman who works there that that the day we were trying to plan on (March 22) is the day before Easter next year - so that put a snag in our plans. So then I had to talk Brian into the 29th, because he wanted the 15th - but I just didn't want to go ( Read more... )

Yeah, I know that Chicago in March - the weather is always iffy. It can either be really nice or it can be really awful. My logic is just that we'll have a better chance at decent weather if we move it to the 29th rather than the 15th. Considering how many out of town guests we have, we just don't think keeping it on the Saturday before Easter is the best idea. Weather is always why I'm leaning more towards Oak Meadows rather than White Pines too - because I like the outside of White Pines a lot more but I like the inside of Oak Meadows better - and I don't necessarily want to pick a place that has a much nice, prettier view - in August - because depending on the weather there's a good chance that what it looks like now it won't look like in March. And if the view outside is just going to be a lot of green or a lot of snow, then I might as well go with the place that I like the inside of better. But my mom likes White Pines better, so I'm going to make a pro and con list because there are certain aspects of each place I really like that the other place doesn't have. Plus, I think Brian is going to come up this weekend, so I think I'll take him over to look at the places and he can tell me what he thinks.

I need a job - that's the other thing I'm in the process of looking for. I've gotta pay my bills!

I think getting Brian's opinion will help a lot with all this planning...Where are you looking at getting a job? What are you interested in? I'm looking to get a new job actually and I'm really excited to begin my job searching...

Haha, yeah - hopefully he'll give it to me. Usually when I ask him his opinion on something wedding related, I get some variation of "well, whatever you want is fine with me". It drives me crazy, because I'm a bad decision maker.

Well, my degree is English with an emphasis in Publishing - so I'd really like to get something publishing related, preferably editorial or production. I've applied to Houghton Mifflin, Hoyt Publishing, Bannerville USA, McGraw Hill, and some other places - and I'm still applying to whatever I can find, so hopefully something comes through.

What are you looking to get a job doing?

I'm not sure, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm going to apply to a lot of places, fax my little resume around and then see what happens.

Your man just wants to make you happy and let you decide, but it pisses me off when people can't even give an opinion...lol but whatver you two will work it out!

xo.
