"I'm sorry-that's the sound of incredulous laughter being stifled."

I start work tomorrow, so instead of sleeping, I'm staying up and watching more youtube videos to calm my nerves. I thought I'd share some unique performances of some of my favorite actors.

Alli thinks these are really really sketchy, but I think they're adorable. I love guys that are good with kids, plus it's some of my favorite actors being absolutely ridiculous, and that's always hilariously wonderful.

I think I'll split them up into a couple of posts, just to make them more manageable.

I feel Rupert Penry-Jones warrants a bit of explanation, as I haven't mentioned him before. I've become a fan of his recently since I've been watching Spooks (MI-5 here in the states) - he's in four seasons, 3 through 6. I originally saw him, without knowing it, as Captain Wentworth in ITV's 2007 adaptation of Persuasion, the Jane Austen novel. Most recently he's been in this kind of weird miniseries Whitechapel, which is about a copycat Jack the Ripper in modern times. He's a ridiculously good actor, and gorgeous as well, of course.

In Persuasion- the tension between him and Anne is so obvious from the get-go. Lovely. This whole movie is on yt. It's gorgeous, a great Austen adaptation.

So, on to his Bedtime Stories-

An okay story, but the opening with the ridiculous moustache is sooo worth it.

Rupert's expressive storytelling in this is amazing. Watch for his crying princess at around 6:00, it's unreal.

This is my favorite story of the ones Rupert reads. The illustrations are gorgeous.

Sooo be expecting more lovely bedtime stories from John Simm, RA, Jonas Armstrong, Phil Glenister, and a couple others. Because I can.

Oh, and the title quote is from Spooks- the one liners in that show are impeccable.

Also, why is Anthony Head in everything?!? Buffy (duh), Merlin, Spooks, Persuasion, Dr. Who, Repo (though I probably won't see that one... Ani says it's awful)... still, he pops up in the most unexpected places. I'm not complaining at all, I love him, but I don't understand it.

obsessions: new, obsessions: actor/actress, youtube vids, british television
