you won’t hear me laughing as i terminate your day

Alexander knows that he really, truly, should be back home, where the economy is getting its ass kicked. Nearly two weeks is long enough for him to be out of the country, especially during such a chaotic time of political battling. (But he’s got this project, and Mina was attacked, and Henry…)

He can’t leave. Not entirely, not yet - which places him in a predicament when he’s told every news outlet to fuck off and then every bastard who’s ever done anything remotely nice for him at CNN calls in begging and wheedling at him to please please PLEASE do this goddamn panel about Obama’s flipout over executive bonuses during the recession PLEASE. He’s still even considering holding out when Anderson Cooper (that jerk) calls him personally and says he’ll do a segment before the panel with him on whatever he wants to get him to do it (because if word has to get around that Alexander Georgiou is on some mystery mission to Mexico, of course he’d hear about it).

In the end, he concedes, and tells them to give him an hour so that he can figure out where this will need to go down. Obviously via satellite, but CNN will send somebody - they have people in Mexico, after all, but whether to do it right here or somewhere outside the city, he needs to discuss and determine. Quickly.

He wants to talk to Henry about it, but he’s busy (how he misses Hephaestion, always there--), and even if he wasn’t, he knows better. Mostly. Alex sighs and flops back on the cheap motel bed and grabs his phone, dialing Mina.
