Life has been...CRAZY!
About a week ago, there was a huge warehouse fire in Anderson. I happened to be home that night. I got a call from my best friend Michael. He called to tell me there is a huge fire and that I needed to come check it out. So...I got dressed, ran downstairs to get my mom (because we chase sirens), grabbed the scanner, and hoped in the car. As we were getting in the car, you could see the dark smoke. But as we pulled out of the driveway you could see the flames. We get to the parking lot across the way, where we met Michael, Sarah, and Ryan. Unfortunately, Sarah and Ryan were evacuated from their home because of the smoke and fire. It was crazy, but I'm glad no one got hurt. This fire was a close second to being as crazy as the magnesium fire that Anderson had a few years ago, obviously not as bright. It was very big and it burned for a while because the warehouse was full of metal and plastics. It turns out this fire was started by a 13 year old, who was steeling copper from the warehouse.
My other crazy event was....FLOODING!
I have never seen anything like it. I can't imagine what a hurricane is like because I felt like this was bad for most of Franklin. Krista, Mike, and I wake up around 11 and decided we want taco bell. Well, the street we live on happens to be flooded a little ways down; but this isn't unusual. I mean it was flooded more than usual but it never crossed my mind that it would get as bad as it did. So, we kept looking for a way to get to Taco Bell. We look and look and look. But as we were looking we went by an apartment complex where cars were turned over and water was covering the building. We realize we're basically trapped and we can only get to the Burger King by the interstate. We come back and realize things had gotten much worse. I think he really hit me hard when I saw two men carrying two young children on their shoulders through water up to their neck and then a another man carrying an infant above his head in the same water. That was pretty scary. I have lots of pictures. Here are a few:

In other news, I've finally got some help lined up for my project. I would get help from my professor but he left for Florida for two weeks without telling anyone. I'm just so ready to be done with this. And I've got to have this done within the next two weeks because my lease is up on the 25th. So, we'll see but I'm hoping that help I have lined will really be some good help.
until next time...
