simplicity kicks ass

I spent all day at the Seattle Pacific University campus for the orientation of the Lutheran Volunteer Corps. Today was the simplicity fair, my part in which was a display on non-toxic cleaning products, as well as entertainment. It's amazing what one can do with baking soda, vinegar, and plain liquid dish soap--like soft scrubber (baking soda and liquid dish soap), floor cleaner (vinegar, dish soap, and hot water), toilet cleaner (vinegar and brush), and so on--it's cheaper and better for the environment.

It's all about "living simply so that others may simply live" not about self-deprication nor shunning wealth. It's about recycling and choosing products that have less impact on the environment.

I remember a year and a half ago when my community made cleaning products. It was a community night of fun...our house community was called the Martin Luther King, Jr. House, so we named our cleaning products after our house. Such as the all-purpose King-tastic cleaner, and oh shit...I forgot the other names! Anyway, it was pretty creative and a night of fun without spending money or obscene amounts of time in front of the television.

Ahhh, fun memories. :) Good times, good times.
