When I started working at First Source I heard my co-workers mention a guy named Peter several times. On forwarded emails that were sent to a good number of fellow MSRs I saw this Peter guy in the list of people it was sent to. Peter Berowski... gee, I used to know a Pete Berowski. It couldn't be the same guy though... that'd be too weird and unlikely. The idea sort of drifted out of my mind until this past week, after a month at FSFCU and Mary Lisa who I was working with at the drive-thru was laughing and talking about what a funny guy this Pete character was. I said, "Pete Berowski?" "yes... Have you met Pete yet?" "No... but I used to know a Pete Berowski... I wonder if it could be the same guy...." She mentioned his age... said he must be twenty. Promptly after this Pete guy fit my criteria she mentioned that he's not from around here.... yes... yes... good, so what does he look like? She describes this guy and I think that if you added 4 or 5 years to the Pete I used to know, it could definitely be a match. But... I was waiting for her to mention the eyes. Pete Berowski from EF/WS had these amazing eyes... I will never forget them. (How could I? I was obsessed with him when I was 14... he was even blessed enough to receive one of the nicknames that Abby and I assigned to our favorite guys to keep tabs on.) Mary Lisa couldn't tell me exactly what color his eyes were but she thought they were lighter than darker but maybe they were brown. If she couldn't remember his amazing clear blue/green eyes then I was beginning to have doubts. She emailed him right there and then to ask about his eyes and he sent back: "Blue or green depending onthe light you look at them in..." And I started getting excited at that news and then I checked his account info on our system and saw that indeed he was from Middleton!!! and an '85 baby. This ....was probably Pete Berowski of 14/15-year-old fame. Mary Lisa emailed to ask if he had ever worked at Enchanted forest and he said, "Yeah, for two summers when I was 14 and 15." AHHA! It's PETE BEROWSKI!!! He asked why and she told him Meghan Kearns was wondering if it was the same guy she used to know from there... almost immediately I got an email from him, "long time no see!!" and we spent the rest of the day and various occcassions throughout the week emailing back and forth during slow periods. I was pretty much in a state of ecstacy and the humor in the situation and disbelief. What a small world... he's been at First Source for a year and a half now! He'll be going to Utica College potentially after finishing at HCCC in the fall and getting his MA in accounting. What a difference. I would love to see him in a shirt and tie. He turned into such a punk when we were 15. And does he still have an eyebrow ring? I doubt First Source would allow that. He's at Herkimer full-time in the summer but apparently he's always at New Hartford in the winter on days he's not at class. Wow. Hysterical.
And just as I was coming down from that, I get an IM (the very next day) from a screenname I recognized but was not programmed with a name into my buddy list. wolfbane something or other... so familiar. And it said: "hey meg, long time no talk! how are you?" and then it hit me... Joel Loftis! The guy ABBY was obsessed with for a period of time when we were 14 (again). And WHY was he iming me?!?! Why?!?!?!?! When I got over the fact that he imed me (and it was the day after I was reunited with Pete) I asked how he'd been and he said, "Great! Married!" So... okay. And the very next thing he said before I could respond was that he's in Iraq. So apparently Joel is a marine in Iraq with a wife since last July.... and he randomly decided to chat via AIM with someone he knew when he was 16 and she was 14 back at enchanted forest.... the same week as Pete and I realize we work together again. I kind of screamed out loud a little bit. On both occassions I called Abby to tell her... I just... don't understand it.
In other news real quick: Work is great
iPod came back but isn't fixed I need my $150 back and then I need to get a new music listening device or I'll scream
Raquette Lake today was only sunny in the morning but I got a good hour of color in and it's not bad...
Next weekend I'll be going up to Old Forge or Raquette... I'll have to decide and talk to Tanner and Minnie and Alicia or whoever else ... Nate's going to be going home for a wedding reception....
4th of July... possibly going with Nate to his friend Vanessa's for a shin-dig... that would be fun. Not sure yet.
21-23=Philly for Em's??
I wanna see PForrrrrrrd. Summer's been great ... he calls a few times a week either at night or on his commute home from work. Things are good.
I got paid overtime for some hours... and I don't know what hours... but COOL! ha.
Playing with kids has been fun. James and I had a reunion this week .. finally! I don't know what took so long for that to happen. We went to Domenico's and then chilled at my house, watched a movie, etc etc
RJ and I have been playing a lot... THIS WEEK WAS ORLANDO BLOOM WEEK!! 1) Pirates 2) Fellowship 3) Kingdom of Heaven .... and then we have to do TTT AND ROTK still
RJ turned 20 yesterday, the 24th... on Thursday Mizzi turned 22 and was surprised I remembered... for the ??? 5 year in a row
Tomorrow's Abby's 20th as well as Andy's 20th.
God damn ipod.
