Friend: Oh, you're having trouble with heartburn? Apple cider vinegar works great for that! Just buy some from Whole Foods and take a few tablespoons whenever you're having heartburn.
Her: Okay. (*buys apple cider vinegar*)
The next day:
Her: Crap, shouldn't have eaten so many tomatoes.
*opens the bottle of apple cider vinegar and guzzles a few tablespoons* GYAHHHHHH! WHY THE HELL DID SHE TELL ME TO DRINK A BOTTLE OF ACID WHEN I HAVE STOMACH ACID IN THE BACK OF MY THROAT?
Me: Didn't you know that you were supposed to take 1-2 tablespoons of the vinegar with 1-2 tablespoons of honey in a glass of warm water?
Unrelated note: If you do decide to try it, try and avoid contact with your teeth. It is, after all, an acid, and acids love to dissolve teeth. Even if you didn't feel like it ever touched your teeth, still follow it with some water to wash it completely out of your mouth. Plus, don't take the apple cider vinegar pills, because if they break open inside your esophagus, they can cause chemical burns. Burns obviously won't happen with "Tablespoon in glass of water" amounts.

I'll be taking a dilute solution, in water, and rinse with water afterward!
