TBT: 12 ~ Vintage Hello Kitty
This is my Hello Kitty button. I far as I can tell it was a gift to me at my 3rd birthday party at GymTime in Encinitas (wow! GymTime! talk about throwback!). I infer that was when I got it because I am wearing it in one of the pictures and it didn't show up in any pictures from previous years. So let's just say I've had this button since 1984! I don't remember exactly when I rediscovered it - probably in college? I've been wearing it every year on my birthday since at least 2006 (again, I have photographic proof!)
See the button? Anyway, I wore it again on Tuesday and got to brag to some of my Hello Kitty fanatic coworkers that this button is VINTAGE HELLO KITTY. :) For whatever reason, this button makes me feel special on my birthday. Maybe because it reminds me of simpler, happier times!
