EXTREMELY Belated February Reading Update!

Read a book and its prequel: 2-5-16: Auggie & Me: Three Wonder Stories by R.J. Palacio
For this category, the prequel, would be Wonder, which I read last summer. So I'm counting this book for this category because I CAN! This book was pretty good. Three stories from three characters in the original book "Wonder" - Julian, Auggie's nemesis, Christopher, Auggie's childhood friend who moves away, and Charlotte, a semi-main character from the first book but whom never shares her side of the story. All three stories were heart warming and filled with good lessons to be learned about respect and acceptance. I would want Audrey to read these and the first book "Wonder" when she gets older.

Read a book that is at least 100 years older than you: 2-15-16: Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne #audreyreadalouds
My second time reading this book through but first time for Audrey. She liked hearing about the adventures her friends from the Hundred Acre Wood had together. When I read this to her, she was going through a major Winnie-the-Pooh phase. She still wants her birthday party to be Winnie-the-Pooh themed and used to only let me sing the theme song to her at bedtime (I wasn't allowed to sing any other lullabies...).

Not much in February, which has turned into the norm for these reading challenges. Last year was the same - I read a ton in January and then two in February. Weird. February just gets so busy and it's a short month... And I chose a longer, denser book to start March reading. AND I'm reading a crap-load of scholarly articles for my Master's project. So I am doing a lot of reading - just not all books all the time...

March may be better... but then again, maybe not... My Master's project is due at the end of May. After that is done, I'm sure my reading challenge will kick into high gear for the summer!
