Another Year, Another IDYLLWILD!

Here are some highlights from our weekend in Idyllwild!

We had chili and cornbread and ate outside on the first night! It was a night time picnic! Audrey also spent the first night in Cabin #1 with Gramps! That was an adventure for all of us but she did great! The rest of the weekend she preferred to be with Mommy & Daddy but I'm sure her preference will change as she gets older and a night at Gramps' will be a real treat! :)

Cousin Play Time! (I realized I neglected to snap any photos of my other nephew this weekend :( but he was there and he was cute as could be!)

Uncle Tom and Aunt Karen visited on Saturday afternoon. Audrey is READING now! So she showed off her skills to Aunt Karen. She recognizes a lot of sight words (thanks to "Otterspace" - a phonic and reading program she used to participate in at preschool, and some sight words videos). She also looks at the pictures to get clues for the words she doesn't know. I am beyond thrilled to see her make the jump from always being read to to wanting to read to us!

We had a fire in Cabin 1! Look at these faces mesmorized by the flames!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY from Idyllwild! <3

We visited this big park twice during the weekend. It was a lot of fun for the bigger kids (Audrey & Jackson). My brother and his family headed back to Tucson sooner than expected - they left Saturday afternoon, which was a bummer.

We walked around the village on Saturday afternoon. We got to meet the Mayor of Idyllwild - Mayor Max! He's a golden retriever. That was pretty exciting! Audrey and Mommy shared a candied apple from the sweet shop and Audrey picked out an Ibex figurine from the toy store. And of course, we took our obligatory Idyllwild photo-op... photos!

Audrey had lots of Gramps time in the afternoon. She loved reading to him too!

We went for a morning hike this morning (Monday) up at Pine Cove. It was a sunny day but we still played in a few patches of snow!

Audrey called herself "Adventure Audrey" during our hike! Oh! We also went on Night Hikes each evening! I loved how Audrey became just as mesmorized by the night sky as I was when I was a child (and still am!).

Audrey leaves her mark in a patch of snow!

And that concludes our Idyllwild weekend! It was fun and relaxing. I love experiencing Idyllwild through the eyes of my child. My mother nature's child :)
