Baby-sitter: Take 2

This time, Audrey caught on to our plan... She was much more clingy when Coco and Juju came over and didn't want to eat her dinner. That's when the "waves hands" came into play. I told Juju, "This is how you know Audrey is getting frustrated." Jeff & I were able to make a mad dash out the door, leaving behind a crying Audrey  :(  but she was in the hands of a perfectly capable baby-sitting duo!

Jeff & I tried the new Union on Yale restaurant in Claremont. We sat inside since it was a 45 minute wait to sit outside. They have a really nice outside patio but inside was ok too - a little loud but after a few drinks, it was manageable. The food was AMAZING!!! We started with the salome plate, which was bread, meat, and a really delicious mustard dipping sauce, plus tiny pickles and arugula lettuce. Such great combinations! I ordered the roast duck - Wow! It was so tender and juicy! The menu recommended to pair it with a glass of Pinot Noir, which I did and also LOVED! Jeff had a huge pizza since the restaurant raved about its stone-fire grill. After trying each other's dishes, we agreed mine was better! We ended our meal with coffee and dessert. We got mint chocolate chip ice cream and brownie. The ice cream was clearly homemade and fresh. It tasted like it came right off the mint leaf! You had to pair it with the brownie or else the mint was a little too overpowering. All in all, the food was so incredible! My mouth is watering just writing this!

After dinner, we strolled around the Claremont Village for a little bit and browsed in Rhino Records and Video Paradiso. We were getting tired and decided to just go home around 9pm. It was nice to have a date night but we also didn't feel too pressured to stay out all night since the purpose of these dates are to get Audrey used to a baby-sitter -- Jeff & I also benefit from that arrangement!

When we got home, Audrey was still and asleep. Coco told us Audrey pretty much just wanted to be held the whole time. Oh well... I guess that's better than crying the whole time? She also didn't eat any of her dinner. That worried me and Jeff - we had fears that she'd wake up in the middle of the night hungry. In fact, she did the exact opposite! Not a peep from her until 6:30am! She slept in! What a strange child.... *wink*

Hopefully she'll be better for our big date coming up in May!
