Post-Halloween

Well... we didn't make it to Oktoberfest (whamp whamp). I got the dates wrong and the date we planned to attend didn't have an Oktoberfest scheduled. I was really bummed. Oh well... there's always next year.

The Halloween season was still really fun! We went to the Pumpkin Patch at Cal Poly Pomona again this year. This time, Jonathan & Becca (Audrey's uncle & aunt) accompanied us. Audrey had the most fun pointing at the pumpkins and saying "Bah Poo" which is "pumpkin" for her. She also liked going up to the pumpkins and playing them like a drum. She also really wanted to lift the pumpkins herself and got a bit fussy when she couldn't.

Halloween day was the best!

I took a half day to go see Audrey in her daycare's parade. All the kids dress up in their costumes and walk around the perimeter of the church where the center is located. Audrey's class got to ride in a cool "Baby Buggy" which she was more than thrilled to ride in.

The cutest part was that Audrey was a bee along with her two best friends from daycare - Kaitlyn and Tegan! No planning went into this. As one of my friends said, "[It] may be the cutest bee attack ever." :)

Audrey had a lot of fun the rest of the day at daycare and then that evening, we got her in her costume again and went over to our friends' house. There, we joined a group of older kids and went trick-or-treating. Jeff & I were so impressed by how brave Audrey was! The first house we stopped at had spooky decorations, lights flashing, and scary music. Audrey walked right up to the door, where she spotted and pointed at a pumpkin, and (with Mommy's help) said "trick-or-treat." Not one fuss or worried whimper. This continued throughout the evening! She'd walk right up to the people handing out candy, find their pumpkins, point at them, and then walk back to the group! Jeff and I were a bit dumbfounded because she always gets so nervous and clingy even when family members visit, and here she was walking up to complete strangers admiring their pumpkins!

By the end of our trick-or-treating, Audrey refused to be held. We didn't bring a stroller (because we didn't think we'd walk that far) so her only choice was be carried or walk. She wanted to walk. What a big girl she is becoming! When she walks now, if she's excited, she practically runs. I can't believe how fast she is growing up!

Here are some photos from the night - Happy (post) Halloween!
