"Ho ho! It's a laugh a minute with Lennon"

The smiles keep a-comin' with our little Audrey!

Yesterday was a busy day. We went to church in the morning. I walked there with Audrey in her stroller after a 9am feeding- Jeff went early to set up for leading worship. At church, there were three other new babies there! All younger than Audrey but just barely - one born about a week or so after Audrey, and two born a week ago in September. All of them are boys - Audrey's going to have a good pick of boyfriends as the grow up together! *wink*wink*

After church, Jeff & I grabbed lunch from Alberto's (Mexican food) and then headed out to San Gabriel for the Johannsen family party. It was at Jeff's grandmother's house - Great Grandma J. is what Audrey will call her. At the party, Audrey met all her other Johannsen relatives, aunts and uncles and cousins. She also met her other great grandma - Great Grandma Barbara (Jeff's mom's mom). It was a lot for her to take in and for me to deal with too, especially because she began crying her hungry cry right when everyone was arriving and wanting to hold her. The hungry cry turned into hungry screams.... Eventually, we found a place to nurse and all was well.

She was awake a little longer for the party and then fell asleep on Grandpa J.'s chest. Her hungry cry came out again just as everyone is leaving. We drove over to Jeff's parents' house as quickly and safely as we could and I nursed her over there.

Both Audrey and I need to get used to nursing in new places but it was stressful running from one place to the next. However, I'm thankful I didn't bring a bottle. I did this on purpose so I could train Audrey and myself to feed in new strange places. Before, I'd always take the bottle as a "just in case she gets hungry" type of crutch. After yesterday, I'm not going to do that anymore. Besides, I need to save up my pumped milk for when she starts daycare - just 3 weeks from today! (sad face)

After nursing at the Johannsens', she was awake and gave lots of smiles to all who wanted to hold her. She also "showed off" during her Tummy Time. She is getting so strong! She can lift and hold her head up a lot more than when she was first starting out. It's amazing to me how fast she is developing!

We left the Johannsens after Audrey had a gloriously huge poop - soiling her clothes leaving her with just a onesie to wear home. The drive home was really cute - we left around 8pm or so and realized this was the first time Audrey had been on the road at night. She was fascinated with all the lights that whizzed by and said wide-eyed all the way until we got to Walnut on the I-10. Then she drifted off to sleep.

Audrey had a good sleep night last night, falling asleep for the long haul at 2:30am and waking for her morning feeding at 8:15am. That gave me a good five hours straight of sleep (I got up a little earlier to pump). After her feeding, we went for a walk with Daddy. She gets carried in a backpack carrier by her dad during these walks. She slept the whole time and then woke up when we got back home and Daddy was leaving for work. She stayed awake but wasn't fussing so I set her in her Winnie the Pooh bouncer so I could quickly answer some emails.

Here is Audrey having fun in her bouncer:
