I just read a news article on the ABC website that says the Commonwealth has agreed to allow Same Sex Civil Unions in the ACT to remain. I'm cheered and cautiously excited by this news. It now opens the way for other states to follow the ACTs lead and legalize Same Sex Civil Ceremonies in their states as well without fear that the Commonwealth will intervene to overturn such legislation.
