Slow Progress

Apr 06, 2009 03:00

I've been working on a new story for three days now and have only written 979 words. I feel sure I must be missing a tooth or two--it's certainly felt like extracting teeth.

Progress on The Colt has ground to a standstill and I thought I would work on this idea while I waited for The Colt to start up again, but so far it has been not much better.

It's a historical which I have made several false starts in previously. I can't work out what the problem is. I am getting flashes of ideas for later in the story and I begin to wonder if perhaps I am starting too early? Tomorrow, I think I shall try writing one of those other scenes and see if that doesn't unlock my creative process.

Anyway now to bed!
