I've decided that I am tired of reading try hard fiction. By try hard, I mean the kind of fiction that tries oh so hard to be literary and avant garde, and witty and clever, and you know it is trying so hard, because you can NOTICE that it is trying too hard. I won't name the guilty author, or book/s here, suffice it to say I have read one and a half of his books now, and that's enough. I'm not going to try any further.
I think I will just return to 'trashy' romance/erotica/m/m stuff and be happy.
Who needs "witty, sparkling and intelligent" fiction when you can get twice as much wit, sparkle and intelligence with half the pretentiousness in other genres.
Literary fiction, adieu it's been...real.
That is all
