Social Interaction!
Things have been on kind of a roller coaster lately. School has been kicking my ass during midterm week. I swear the ITP (interpreting) teachers are out to get us. Lillian gave us our midterm two weeks ago so that was fine, but then this week I've had a midterm for ASL Lit/Classifiers, and Intro. Then, I had an observation and an event due for Intro. I also had to watch a movie, Love is Never Silent and write a paper on it and that's due today for ASL Lit/Classifiers. It's nuts, I swear. But last night I watched the movie with Jaime, Lauren and Christi, which was actually alot of fun. It was the first time I went out with people since I moved here, believe it or not.
We originally were going to meet at the Coffee XChange near the UofA campus around 8:30. I left a little early because I knew I'd be turning around alot. Right as I pass by it and I'm turning around to find a parking spot, Jaime texts me and tells me that they won't be there until around 9:15 since Christi didn't get out of her class until 9. I told her, "Uhh, that's fine, I already left though!" And she came early to keep me company until Lauren and Christi got there. Well, I got to the Coffee XChange after turning around four times and parked at the bank nearby, and there are NO tables. At all. So I get some coffee, hoping a table will open up. One table opens up, and someone grabs it. Then ANOTHER table opens up, and some ho gets out of line and takes the table! So I text Jaime with, "A table opened up but some ho took it before I could! I'll wait in the car, just let me know when you're here and we'll meet up", and I walk back to the car and sit and listen to the radio for a bit to kill time.
After a few minutes I see a gold car pull up, and because it was dark I wasn't sure if it was Jaime's car or not. Finally I see the person inside put their cell phone to their ear, and then mine rings! I just thought it was amusing because after I say hello, Jaime says, "It WAS you! Hi!" :P She also enjoyed my ho comment immensely, haha.
So, yeah. We walk up to the Coffee XChange again, still nothing is open. Christi and Lauren get there, and we decide to go to the UofA Library, since it was open 24hours and it was going on 10pm. We stopped to get snacks at a Circle K, where I told Jaime the saga of William and Meghan, and found out that she's super excited that they're putting in a Quick Trip on Speedway. We finally get to the Library and Jaime and I are in the elevator trying to find Christi and Lauren, when this Korean couple walks into the elevator with us. They start talking in Korean, so Jaime and I have a conversation in ASL, and I told her how Koreans have a tendency to walk in huge lines next to each other and block hallways, haha. So we find Christi and Lauren, and find a study room, and hook up the laptop and commence movie-watching. We finally finished around 1:15am, after several breaks and distractions. I got home around 1:40am, and my phone had died so I wasn't able to let William know I'd be home later than I thought. Soo, he stayed up and waited for me, and we got to sleep around 2:30, and he woke up at 6 and woke me up around 6:15 so I could take him to work. He then realized he forgot his air pump for his bike, so I went back home and got it for him, came back and went and bought starbucks and some bagels for both of us. I drove home and now I'm updating this thing :P
Things have been a little rough emotionally for me starting last week, and I won't get into them right now...Nothing concerning my marriage or immediate blood relatives, but it does involve someone I'm close to. Sooo, yeah. Good times. I'm off to drink my coffee and get started on this paper and hope I don't have an aneurysm :D
