Teeth

So, there was this house-- a house not unlike the one featured in House of Leaves whose inner proportions didn't seem to match the outer ones. I really do have a somewhat deep-seated fear about losing my teeth. It's definitely one of my more irrational fears, but I quite often "check" my teeth after eating, making sure nothing's loose and whatnot. Also, I think it may be expressing my desire to walk around in a pink robe holding a tumbler of whiskey in one hand and a cigarette holder in the other. Well, I guess the robe wouldn't have to be be pink, but that's how it was in the dream. Yes, I was wearing a robe. Yes, I left that out. =D

Dreams are incredibly fascinating to me. When I was younger, I was convinced that I would invent a way to both capture and replay dreams a la film strip. A friend told me that he believes even if the capturing of dreams were possible, we likely wouldn't understand what we were seeing as were only aware of things while dreaming. I'm not sure if I believe that, but I know that there have been a few dreams that I've wished could be held on to forever. [insert wistful sigh here]

Final note: you thought my dream was epic. I commented that my role in your dream must have been epic. I just wanted you to know that I wasn't mimicking you-- these were merely two awesome ideas crossing like boats in the night. =)

Haha, great minds and all that ;)

I find that when I'm going through a really hard time, my dreams become more vivid and strangely comforting. I like the idea of capturing dreams and being able to play them back! But I think they're wild things that we'll never be able to tame, and it's probably best that way.
