Will the Paradigm of Convenience Inevitably Cause Human Destruction?

Will it?
This is the intro to my paper...
"Picture yourself on a street corner in any metropolitan area of your choice. Large masses of thriving beings pass you at different angles, and with different patterns. All these souls are living in their own individual worlds. A man to your left signals a passing taxi. An overweight woman in front of you is talking loudly into her cell phone. A teenager passes you with a blaring Ipod and a lit cigarette. Convenience of technology contributes to society relying on conquering time and space, making tasks easier, and creating comfort for themselves. These all seem like positive aspects, but how much conquering and comfort is too much? Will there be a day in the future where you could stand on that same street corner and stare at a lifeless street? A street with cars, and no drivers. A street with cigarettes and no humans to smoke them? A street with music blaring with no one to listen? The question seems to be, “Will the changes in the conveniences of technology that we hold so dear inevitably destroy us in the end?” To answer this question, this paper will examine how familiar technologies are creating destruction in the world."

Will the technologys that we see as everyday things we deal with become something that we can't control? The television is eating away at our brain capacity, plastic surgery is making people change their whole idenity, people are getting abortions for "convenience", people are constanting acting like they need more space to live, and all the world seems to do is eat fast food for the conveniences of it.

What do you think?
