Let me know how Sanitarium is! I used to check it out way back when but I never worked up the gumption to buy it and it always looked/sounded intriguing. (In a similar boat is Indigo Prophecy which is apparently on Steam for $10 which I may end up getting after all.)

So far it's a pretty good game. It hasn't aged well graphics-wise, but you get used to the bitmap stuff fast. Great sounds, so-so dialogue (haven't found an adventure game yet without at least one cringe-worthy sentence, except maybe Riven), interesting stories. Some of the puzzles are a bit ridiculous and there were a few red herrings in one chapter that pissed me off, but I'd definitely recommend it!
