Ohmygosh!!! I just got to see surgery today at St. Luke's Cooley Heart Center!!!! It was absolutley amazing. We watched an aortic aneurysm repair. Totally unbelievable what they can do. We got there just in time when they started making the incision so we got to see them use the little saw and then the rib retractors. Seeing the heart beating is something I can't even explain. And then when they put the heart on the pump machine and stop the heart is soo cool!!! Can't wait to go and really be in the room, we were just watching from the observation room!
