update
Wow... it's been a long time since I've been able to sit, and think, enough to type up something decent to say here... Ever since Faire I've been busting my ass off at Borders. I've added to my job, it seems. Not only am I a part of IPT (short for inventory process team) I also seem to have taken on the childrens section as my little pet. Much larger than the Manga section I used to command. For those of you who aren't familiar with Borders superstores, the childrens section is a "store within a store". It has every section you find in the normal adult books, only for kids. So it gets to be a BIG JOB. I haven't left the section in over a week, everytime I think I may et to do something else, turn out that another cart of kids books is found. Don't get me wrong though, I may bitch and complain, but I love it.
So on top of the newly aquired kids section, I also run storytime. (In fact I need to get to work soon, on my day off no less, to talk about it with my manager). So every Saturday at 10:30 I will be reading to small children. And I'm soooo excited. We had a test run of sorts at the GRAND OPENNING (which was this last weekend for those that didn't know). I ran not one... not two... not even three.... but four overall this weekend. And I got to play with CLIFFORD. I picked a very nice boy to play cllifford for me, and I think the kids liked him. He's even said he'd do another character if we get one... this makes me happy, cause no one on IPT would even think about it... stupid boys!
I have very few days off it seems and never in the right places, but I'm getting by. There are things that are upsetting me, and things I'm not sure of... but I'm trying not to think about those... full-time is a lot harder than I thought it would be... but I'm having fun... I just wish it left more time for other things, and sometimes I wish other things left more time for me...
and on that note, I'm going to meet mom for lunch and then talk to my boss... if you want pictures of "Clifford Storytime" drop me an email and I will send you the link. But only if I get an email!
