Currently I am waiting for the sun to set a bit before I go running in Cherokee. It shouldn't be too bad since the humidity is way down but I haven't actually run in a while and I'm being a pansy.
Summer 08 so far has been quite nice. Took some trips, gotten to see some friends that I hardly see, watched the twins grow from tiny 5 pound preemies to 5 month old chunks, had a great time with Bryan, etc etc.... I have no complaints.
My sister is about to be a mama any day now. We had a shower for her on Sunday. She is going to be a fantastic mother and I am so happy and so excited for her. This whole experience has been so wonderful for our family.
Bryan took Rusty and Martin out on his dad's boat on Sunday while we were at the shower. No one caught anything except Bryan but it was also 90 degrees and way too hot to be fishing. I think they had a good time though. It's amazing how similar they all are. Which is good because they'll be brothers-in-law soon.
Oh my gosh. I love mountain biking. I can't believe I haven't done it sooner. Bryan and I take the bikes up to Cherokee and ride on the trails. Except for my righteous wipeout which scarred my seat (and my legs and lip) it's been a blast. It's hard as hell but so much fun. Now I can't wait for it to get cold so we can go skiing. Bryan's mom wants to take on a trip in December to Snowshoe Mountain in West VA. Woo! Hell yeah. She wants to do something to celebrate Bryan's promotion/graduation from grad school. I'm 100% okay with that decision.
Still at Humana. Nothing really new to report. I joined LinkedIn which is a professional networking website. Kind of like Facebook for your career. It's a good way to network and connect with other people at other companies to see what's out there. I'm not that serious about looking for a new role yet but I don't want to be a Project Analyst forever. I want to keep my options open. I'll need to start planning for the future.
Speaking of which, Bryan and I are going to be looking at houses in the fall. My lease with Emily runs until May but she has a friend who is living at home who will probably move in when I move out so there's some flexibility there. We want to stay close to our families since my parents, his dad and my brother and sister-in-law literally live within 4 minutes of each other. Plus we really like the neighborhood. As stupid as it may sound, I can't wait to start paying a mortgage instead of a rent. Soon I'll have my car and student loan paid off and won't have any other debt to worry about. We'll both be in a good place ... ha, look at me, Ma, merging assets!
Lauren and Martin get married in a little over a year. She found her dress a couple of weeks ago. I also found mine. Erin and I are her maids of honor. I already know what my toast is going to be. I think I've know for years what it's going to be. When you share a room with someone for the first 12 years of your life, you have things to blackmail them with.
Alright, 86 degrees.... LET'S DO THIS.
