Mom and Dad have been in Costa Rica since last Monday. Lauren and I have been house/dog sitting so I've been staying here all weekend. They're back tomorrow night which is good because Lucy has been taking quite a toll on my allergies. I love my dog but she makes me break out something fierce.
Bryan and I went to U of L's planetarium on Friday night (don't laugh). It was actually really cool. They do tours of Louisville's winter sky and show you a ton of constellations and planets. Very educational :). They also did a laser light show in sync to music that might have killed me if I'd been on drugs. I think I know what LSD would be like.
Saturday, Bryan and I took all 3 dogs to Bernhiem Forest for a hike. Bryan's dad went with us too. We did 3 fairly short trials but being that it was 33 degrees, that's all we needed to do. I got some really cool pictures which I can't put up because I don't have the USB cord for my camera with me. And Lucy didn't fail to surprise me by plunging head first into a nearly frozen creek bed and soaking herself from head to foot. That required a nice long trip to Feeders' Supply for a bath. We dropped the dogs (and dad) off at their respective houses and headed up to Qdoba for a victory lunch.
Today I'm going to straighten up Mom and Dad's house since they come back tomorrow night and go up to the hospital to see Kelly. She was admitted 2 weeks ago because she about went into labor and her doctor is keeping her there until she is in her 34th week which actually is this coming Wednesday. Apparently 34 weeks is a milestone in a pregnancy because the babies' lungs and major organs are pretty much developed so if she goes into labor and delivers, they have a better chance of being able to breath on their own and won't have to stay in the newborn ICU for as long. Once she is discharged, she'll be on bedrest at home until she has the girls. I could not be more ready to be an aunt. It sucks that John and Kelly won't be able to go on vacation with us though. This is the last one for a while too because there's a wedding next year and 3 babies to spoil. I don't mind though. Bryan and I talked about going somewhere next year anyway. Maybe a cruise or something. We already are going to Florida in October for Angel and Kyle's wedding which will be really nice. And as soon as I get my tax return we're booking :)
Also, he asked me about something last night that really made me happy. I'm not going to elaborate though. Later.
Up next -- feed Lucy, throw in some laundry, shower and go see my almost-ready-to-pop sister in law.
