Ok, so today I was ordering lunch in the Newman Cafe and as I was waiting for it to come, Pat Schloss (Pat and Sarah are the nice young couple with three kids) comes up to me, after I had just seen them all at Mass and said bye, and he was like, "Megan, I just wanted to say I am so proud of you, thank you so much for doing this." I was like, "WHAT??" He was holding a newspaper and shows it to me saying, "you're on the front page." He had been walking out of Newman and the Daily Collegian (Umass' newpaper) caught his eye. A couple of weeks ago one of my girls who is a journalism major interviewed me for an article she was writing on Contraception. She wasn't sure if it would be published or not. She had interviewed me once and she didn't tell me the topic beforehand, I was totally unprepared and didn't feel like I did very well. I wanted to say the right things you know?!? Then she asked to interview me again since she was going in a more specific direction and needed more info on Contraception. So this time I did some reading, prayed and that was that! And I didn't hear anything since then. Then today, there it is!! When Pat said this to me, all I thought was, "oh no! What did I say? Did I say the right thing??! Holy smokes, what if I said stuff that isn't what the Church teaches?!?" Yeah, I was freaking out but I read it and thank goodness I think it's ok....one of my other students, my disciple actually, was interviewed and quoted as well.
