Subversive behaviour

Several years ago in this journal I posed the question of whether it was more socially unacceptable to be reading a book called "The Bad Catholics Guide to Good Living" or Eve Enslers "The Vagina Monologues" on public transport, namely the dart. Now another social question is brought to light: Is it is less socially acceptable to be sewing in public than it is to be knitting in public? It seems to be. I'm rarely conscious of people's reactions when I'm knitting but the sewing the knitting together gets disbelieving stares.

Interesting, sometimes doing the most old-fashioned things is the most radical.

questions, public transport, knitting
