The heater started acting wonky around 4 p.m. or so, though we weren't really sure there was a problem until 6 or 7. It's working but only with manual start-ups from hubby fiddling around with it out in the garage. We have a service contract that will cover the service call, but fixing the problem might be another story. We will have to wait at least until Friday to find out. Assuming that Friday is not also a holiday for the repairmen.

I recall that our A/C went on the fritz over a holiday weekend also. How do these systems know?
