--It was so warm and sticky yesterday afternoon/evening that my husband and I both had fans blowing in the respective rooms we were occupying. That changed overnight. Today was definitely long-sleeve weather.

--My computer is driving me crazy. Attempts to make it run better have just added new wrinkles. Bah, bah, bah.

--Phrase of the week (possibly longer), courtesy of "How I Met Your Mother," is I gots to know.

After hubby said he wouldn't and I toyed with the idea of not watching "The Walking Dead" this year, there we both were, in front of the TV, post "The Amazing Race," and he says, "Aren't you going to switch the channel?" So we watched it, and I remembered why I thought it was so good before, icky parts notwithstanding.

--At some point HBO promoted "The Walking Dead" as "the scariest show on television." Hubby wondered if that honor ought to go to "American Horror Story." Diplomatically I suggest that TWD is "the scariest" and AHS is "the most unnerving."

--Speaking of "American Horror Story," I find it very disturbing but also strangely intriguing. It's not just horror but "psycho-sexual drama." They're not kidding. Though we found some humor when Jessica Lange's character, responding to a question about whether she was from the South, said, "Why yes I am. I'm from Virginia, the Old Dominion State. Thank you for noticing." We just hooted at that.

--Made second, and final, run for Halloween candy today. Have packed up 40 bags of assorted goodies. Any more than that will get some snack-size Kit Kats tossed their way. If we don't have too many more than 40, then we'll get the rest of the Kit Kats. It won't be the copious amounts of leftover candy we've had other years, and that is a good thing.

--President Obama's bus tour was here, yes, here--well, Hampton, and we happened to have dinner in Hampton on Tuesday night. Hubby worked it out that the president's bus (Tour Bus One??) was traveling one direction on Mercury Blvd. while we were going the opposite direction on Todds Lane (which runs parallel to Mercury). This may mean something, but I'm sure I don't know what.
