see "the weather underground."
WU was a revolutionary antiwar organization that used militancy to oppose the vietnam war and tried to bring the war home and overthrow the U.S. government and the capitalist system. they believed that in a society perpetuating violence, both at home and abroad, true pacifism was impossible, and the only way to end the war and start a revolution was through armed revolt.
and it makes me wonder, where the fuck is the weather undergroud of our generation? the antiwar movement of the iraq war is pathetic. do we have to wait till the casualties match those of the vietnam war before anybody starts giving a shit? supposedly half the country opposes the war, but where are all those people?
i'm fucking sick of being red baited and being called a commie and other ridiculous shit. and i'm sick of how people who have morals, and know this war is imperialistic and unjust, sit back and passively allow it to happen. i'm fucking sick of sectarianism within the antiwar movement.
maybe we've entered into an new age of superficiality and systematically distorted and filtered information, where everything is falling apart, and everybody is drugged up on some fucking "medication". and maybe it's this new age that's to blame for this fucking numb culture where everybody's too goddamn concerned with their own little bubble to recognize what's happening outside it. and it feels like every choice i make, i'm sacrificing something else, and i can't tell if any of it will pay off one day. at this point though, things are looking pretty fucking bleak.
