so, i am now an official member of the boston socialist alternative! thom will be proud. before yesterday i never really read all those crazy revolutionary newspapers and had written all those groups off as stupid "we're-more-revolutionary-than-you" bullshit propoganda, but yesterday after the protest i sat down and read the entire socialist alternative newspaper, and was completely enthralled, and then proceeded to read all about socialism and what the main pillars and beliefs of it are, and what can i say? something has to happen; the US can't go on like this, and socialism is the only alternative. not that i'm that optimistic about it or anything though, but hey - even though i'm well aware socialism isn't in this country's immediate future, you can't just sit around talking about how much shit sucks without doing anything about it. well, i guess you can, because that's what most people do, but I can't. i refuse to give up on this country, even though it would be so obscenely easy. there is so much fucked up shit going on all around us; how can you just stay in your comfortable little bubble and not do anything??? gah. fucking america.
Well we know where we’re goin’
But we don’t know where we’ve been
And we know what we’re knowin’
But we can’t say what we’ve seen
And we’re not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out
We’re on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Takin’ that ride to nowhere
We’ll take that ride
I’m feelin’ okay this mornin’
And you know,
We’re on the road to paradise
Here we go, here we go
Maybe you wonder where you are
I don’t care
Here is where time is on our side
Take you there...take you there
We’re on a road to nowhere
We’re on a road to nowhere
We’re on a road to nowhere
There’s a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
And it’s very far away
But it’s growing day by day
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
They can tell you what to do
But they’ll make a fool of you
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
We’re on a road to nowhere
