I am exhausted. We called it an early day today, because not only was it an insane week of moving and packing, and unpacking, and arranging, it's also hella freezing and windy up here for us to start work. And I have been sleeping like crap here. Maybe for a few more days. I never sleep well in a new spot.

And the barn is hella behind, so I have no stalls, no sheds, and no arena in which to achieve my horse duties ( not to mention life-safety issues if someone is sick or colicky?!)

The temporary house is huge and lovely. It is insane, exhilarating, and almost kids unsettling to have so much space. It feels amazing to have more than one room!

SO much work to be done here. The ponies need TLC. The barn needs someone to ask questions like "why is there no plumbing in the wash stall?" (True story). These people needed an architect a year ago. There is a reason architects and contractors should work together. There is a balance between knowledges that needs to be used for projects this big. The GC just did NOT think about anything except buildability. Like, uh, CLOSETS in the apartment?!

We made a huge and wonderful dinner tonight. And I am going to take a bath IN MY SOAKER TUB. As opposed to the shower-only we'll have in the tiny apartment. Sigh. Alas. We'll enjoy it while we're here. More about the ranch later.
