The Autophenomenological Experience of Japanese

Feb 14, 2006 16:51

A very intelligent title for a very dumb entry. Every day in my philosophy of mind class (hence the use of “autophenomenological experience“), I use my electronic dictionary to look up interesting words and kanji, to doodle while I half-listen to lecture. I thought it would be a good idea to recap and take a look at what I’ve “learned” this quarter.

Nothing new, I mostly practiced kanji like 家, 歌, 新, 線, and whatever else came to mind.

I wrote the numbers 1-10, then 手 a lot, followed by a few others like 黒, 利用, 書, 事, 河, 第. Oh, and a few I can't read (which means I didn’t do a good job practicing). I also wrote my name in Hebrew a few times (both cursive and block), to see if I could still remember it.

I also wrote down “NorthFace, small backpack, iBookに入れる?” I must have seen someone with a backpack I liked and wondered if an iBook would fit inside.

是非 and 線 look like they’re my kanji of the day for the 19th.

On the 24th, I wrote out the syllabaries and a few other kanji. 西, 四, 東, 京.

Haha, today all I wrote out was あおくびだいこん in hiragana (it’s 青首大根 in kanji). I must have been bored!

That’s a good start. after this is when I started to get into new kanji instead of refreshing my memory on old ones, which I’ll type up later.

boredom, learning, class, japanese, kanji, 日本語, 漢字
